Starter Pack for Civic Participation
Do you want to work with others to make a difference? Do you have an idea waiting for implementation? Have you maybe considered founding an association?
In the Starter Pack for Civic Participation info session you will learn about the opportunities for civic participation in Finland. We will also discuss what to take into consideration if you are planning to found an association. In addition, you will hear about the experience of starting a network and advancing your vision from the guest speaker Galith Nadbornik, founder of International Working Women of Finland ry, who will also share her top tips at the event. The instructors of the event are Järjestöhautomo’s NGO Advisors Tuuli Shinyella and Tuomas Rinne.

Target group: Active citizens interested in civic participation and people planning to found an association. The event will also provide useful basic information about Finnish civil society to people of immigrant backround.
At the event, we will discuss:
- What types of opportunities does civic participation offer?
- What are the different options for participation? Information on e.g. informal civic participation, volunteering, as well as active membership and positions of trust in associations.
- What to consider if you are planning to found an association?
- What does founding an association involve in practice?
