Starter Pack for Civic Participation

In the Starter Pack for Civic Participation info session, we will explore what civic participation is and why it is important. Additionally, we will look into various opportunities for civic engagement and participation in Finland. Moreover, participants will gain insights into the rights and responsibilities inherent in civic engagement. A guest speaker, who is an active civic actor, will also be invited to share concrete and inspiring examples from their own civic involvement. The instructor of the event is Järjestöhautomo’s specialist Annu-Riina Lamberg.

Target group: Session is open to everyone interested in civic participation, including those who have moved to Finland and want to learn about Finnish society and various participation opportunities.

After the session, you will be able to:

• Define what civic participation means
• Describe various forms of civic engagement and the rights and responsibilities associated with them
• Plan and implement your own civic engagement.
